Advocating for Your Health: No One Knows You Better Than You

Truth Bomb 💣
No one is more invested in your health than you are.
Yes, there are incredible health professionals out there - people who genuinely care, who’ve spent years studying, who want to help. But at the end of the day, it’s your body. Your symptoms. Your life. You're the one living with it every single day.
So if something feels off, say something. If you're not getting answers, ask more questions. If you’re being dismissed - don’t accept it.
Too often, we’re taught to second-guess ourselves.
To wait.
To not “make a fuss.”
To trust someone else’s expertise more than our own lived experience.
You might think:
“I thought I just needed more rest.”
“I wasn’t sure it was a big deal.”
“I didn’t want to bother anyone.”
Advocating for your health isn’t about being difficult.
It’s about being heard.
It’s about trusting your instincts. It’s about asking for the tests. It’s about getting the second opinion, even if it feels awkward or uncomfortable. It’s about speaking up - even when your symptoms don’t fit neatly into a textbook description.
You know your body. You know when something’s not right. And you’re allowed to keep speaking up until someone listens.
Advocating for your health doesn’t mean doing it all alone. It means building a team around you - professionals, friends, loved ones - who treat you like a whole person, not just a set of symptoms on a form.
You deserve to be taken seriously. You deserve answers. You deserve to feel better.
And it’s more than okay to speak up again (and again, if needed) until you do.
So let me ask you this:
If your body could speak clearly right now… what would it be trying to tell you?
